  Jan tells folklore, history tales, oral history, ghost tales and traditional tales on her CD, "Strange Things Happen in the Smokies…." She is President of Smoky Mountain Storytellers Association, a non-profit that she helped organize, and an active member since 1992. She is also past President of East TN. Writers Guild. Janice is experienced in organizing festivals, writing promotional material, and storytelling workshops.

Since 1986, she's presented tales at *Dollywood * Smoky Mountain Storytelling Festival *Great Smoky Mts. National Park * Resorts * Schools * Churches *Private Parties from New York to North Carolina. Jan has emceed the Swapping Grounds, National Storytelling Festival, Jones- borough, TN., and the Smoky Mountain Storytelling Festival, Pigeon Forge, TN.

Janice's stories were published as a book, and as a featured column for "Vintage Journal". Two plays were produced and presented. Guideposts featured her story in hardcover, Best Loved Stories 1997.
