I like to use the oral language as it's been handed down through generations of tellers.

Pat Musselman is a native of Bristol, TN, who began telling stories in 1997. She is a performing member of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild and of the Beaver Creek Storytellers of Bristol, TN/VA. Pat was President of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild for 2002 and 2003.

Using her "many" voices and animated face, Pat tells stories to adults, children, or mixed audiences. She tells Appalachian Tales, Tall Tales, Jack Tales, family stories, ghost stories, inspirational stories, original stories, and children's stories. She uses the words and dialect as they have been handed down through the generations. Pat will tell you that she is "not a hillbilly, she's a full blooded Appalachian-American!"

"Miss Pat" has performed at schools, colleges, libraries, churches, retirement homes, festivals, club meetings, civic events, and state parks. She has shared stories at "Tellabrations" from Barter Stage II in Abingdon, VA, Bristol TN and VA, Jonesborough, and Pigeon Forge, TN. Pat has also told ghost stories for the past seven years for "Witches Wynd" at the Exchange Place near Kingsport, TN.

Pat has been the owner/operator of A Second Chance Consignment, 1610 Weaver Pike Bristol, TN, since July 2003. Her shop specializes in new and gently-used name brand clothing for women, children, and men.
