A story,
a story...
Let it come,
let it go.

  "As a child I loved to hear stories my aunts and uncles told about growing up. Story listeners often become storytellers, I believe it is because they want to share the joy they have received from stories."

A native of northeast Tennessee, Peggy participated in Community Theater for over 20 years. Her interest in storytelling occurred when asked to tell ghost stories at a summer camp. She has been an active storyteller since 1997, when she completed her Master's Degree in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University. Peggy is a performing member with The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild and Beaver Creek Storytellers.

Peggy's repertoire includes world tales, Appalachian tales, ghost stories, and personal stories. She performs for children, adults, and mixed audiences. She has appeared at several festivals: Kingsport Fun Fest, Rogersville's Heritage Days, Woodruff SC Fall Festival, Exchange Place Witches Wynde, Tales from the Pumpkin Patch at Tipton-Haynes Farm, and Morristown Mountain Makins'. "Tellabration" performances have included Jonesborough, Johnson City, Pigeon Forge, Greeneville, and Knoxville.

Peggy teaches storytelling and drama classes for both adults and children. She has been an artist in residence for Kingsport City schools and has taught for Kingsport Institute of Continued Learning, Showboat Dinner Theater, and Kingsport Recreation Department. She was a finalist in the National Storytelling Competition in Hillsboro, Ohio, in 2000.

An active community volunteer, she received the Sertoma "Service to Mankind" award and the American Cancer Society's St. George Medal for her work with cancer patients. Peggy is also an alumnus of the Leadership Kingsport program and was on the steering committee for Kingsport Tomorrow.
