The
International Storytelling Center celebrates the power of storytelling each year
in October by showcasing the world's stories, storytellers and storytelling
traditions at the highly acclaimed National Storytelling Festival - the world's
premier storytelling event.
The Tennessee Storytelling Association is committed to preserving the irreplaceable oral traditions of Tennessee through its dedication to the art of storytelling. Smoky Mountain Storytellers Association (SMSA) meetings are held at 3:00 PM on the third Sunday of most months, at the Asbury Place Clubhouse, Sevierville Road (Hwy. 411), Maryville, Tennessee. At 2:00 PM, prior to the meeting, we tell stories in the Chapel of the Assisted Living Building at Asbury Place. Exceptions: in June, we meet on the fourth Sunday. In July and December we have a picnic and holiday party, respectively, which is open to members and guests.
